Five years ago, Zoë Jordan launched KNITLAB, a capsule collection of cashmere classics, which revolutionised the world of knitwear as we know it.
“I wanted to take the concept of essential knitwear, and shake it up for the modern day, adding some edge whilst still adhering to the time-old principle that comfort is crucial. I believe in soft-to-the-skin contemporary designs that enable freedom of movement and stand the test of time”
Taking inspiration from her catwalk collection, KNITLAB launched in a range of neutral colours, an alchemy of ash grey, sandstone, black and white. Now synonymous with the brand, the knitwear’s style is subtle yet sophisticated, effortless yet structured, comfortable yet crucial.
In place of fashion models, Zoe chose a handful of family and friends for the launch, women who embodied the natural confidence at the core of the collection. The diverse group of ambassadors included celebrated artist Polly Morgan, GP Dr. Zoe Williams, the award-winning music producer Catherine Marks and photographer Lily Bertrand-Webb, among others. Over time, the ambassador programme has grown to include men such as the actor Liam Cunningham, and hand-picked talents from New York and Dublin, respectively the city in which Zoë first embarked on her career, and the town of her birth.
The KNITLAB journey has spread far and wide, as these sweaters become lucky talismans for our ambassadors on the adventures of life. We hear cherished stories of women wearing the pieces to comfort them on hospital appointments and to present nerve-racking television shows. From playing piano in our Edison bomber to a crowd of sixty thousand to - after ten years and three auditions - finally being accepted into the Royal Ballet in Belgium, Galileo knit in tow. Eclectic, dynamic and accomplished, we continue to champion the real people that have inspired us from the start.
This is a collection with an international cult following, one which invites you to celebrate the skin you are in, to dare greatly and trust in your own innate style. We are happy to announce that KNITLAB is here to stay.
